β’ Perform a variety of patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification duties β’ Exhibit strong and care-focused customer service skills in daily interaction with the public, patients, staff, and physicians β’ Scheduling, changing, and updating patient appointments β’ Interview patients for demographic information, evaluate eligibility, collect co-pays, deductibles β’ Contact insurance carriers to verify patientβs insurance eligibility, benefits, and requirements β’ Request, track and obtain pre-authorization from insurance carriers β’ Process insurance authorizations and update patient records β’ Research referrals to deny or approve based on information obtained β’ Operate online insurance verification websites β’ Communicate any insurance changes or trends among team β’ Respond to patient inquiries, questions, and scheduling requests
β’ High School Diploma or equivalent β’ 1 β 2 years of medical office experience is preferred β’ Proficient knowledge in medical terminology β’ Above average spelling and typing skills needed β’ Proficient computer software (Online insurance websites and DASH) and database skills β’ Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products β’ Strong Interpersonal Skills β’ Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language.
