📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership and innovation in FACTS and HVDC solutions • Lead advanced design studies for FACTS and HVDC systems, including harmonic filter design, loss calculations, noise analysis, and control performance • Develop methods and improvements for FACTS and HVDC equipment design and rating, including power electronic converters and large power transformers • Advise on protection, control systems, and operational strategies • Guide commissioning testing and troubleshoot FACTS and HVDC systems in the field • Collaborate with Mitsubishi Electric’s global engineering teams • Support sales teams with technical proposals and customer presentations • Participate in technical committees and influence industry standards • Design one-line diagrams and perform harmonic filtering, loss, and control performance analyses • Coordinate system design through factory tests and real-time digital simulator testing • Mentor field engineers and resolve installation and operational challenges • Develop and maintain design standards • Engage with trade organizations and maintain industry contacts • Drive cost reduction while ensuring system reliability and performance • Report to the Substation Division Product Line Manager – FACTS and HVDC

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Power Electronics Engineering • 10+ years of experience in FACTS or HVDC system engineering • Advanced knowledge of power electronics, substation theory, protection, and control • Knowledge of harmonic filtering design methods • Ability to conceptualize innovative solutions and improve existing designs • Advanced interpersonal, presentation, and technical writing abilities • Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, and power system simulation software • Advanced Microsoft Office skills • Ability to analyze market needs and develop product roadmaps • Less than 50% travel required • Based in the United States
