📋 Description

• Serve as a strategic bridge between facility planning/programming and interior design execution • Lead development and application of system-wide interior environments • Integrate planning principles, operational workflows, and design standards into scalable, cost-effective solutions • Ensure interior design decisions support project programming, capital planning, cost alignment, and long-term operational performance • Provide leadership and direct supervision to interior design staff and partners • Partner with Planning & Preconstruction on facility programming and space planning • Translate clinical, operational, and workflow requirements into interior planning strategies and design criteria • Support functional programming, space standards, planning narratives, and room typologies • Lead governance and continuous improvement of interior finish and environment standards • Guide architects, interior designers, and project teams through design reviews and standards compliance • Oversee strategic furniture, fixtures and equipment, artwork, signage, and wayfinding programs • Develop conceptual interior and FAS budgets and support cost planning, value optimization, and bulk purchasing • Oversee procurement approaches, bid packages, scopes, vendor selection, and evaluation • Mentor staff, prioritize workloads, and establish cross-functional design workflows • Liaise with planning, preconstruction, design and construction, clinical, operational, brand, compliance, and facilities teams

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design or related field (Required) • 8–12+ years of combined experience in architectural planning/programming or interior design within healthcare or complex commercial environments • Experience integrating planning, design standards, and project delivery • Experience working within or alongside design & construction / preconstruction teams • Experience overseeing design consultants and mentoring staff • Strong expertise in facility planning, programming, and space typologies • Deep understanding of interior materials, finishes, and FF&E systems • Ability to connect design decisions to cost, operations, and lifecycle performance • Proficiency in interpreting drawings, specifications, and planning documents • Strong financial and cost-awareness mindset • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe, and MS Office • Must be able to work Eastern Time Zone business hours
