• Perform analyses using spreadsheets, databases, and other resources to clean, synthesize, and analyze data and information • Communicate results to peers and project leaders • Review the work of peers • Prepare and document project files • Assist with research and business development projects • Work with health care data using a variety of software applications • Gain broad real-life experiences and exposure to the work of consultants in the health actuarial practice
• Currently enrolled and returning to, or recently graduated from, an accredited University, or changing careers to the actuarial field • Working towards, or completed, a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or another major with quantitative course work • At least one Society of Actuaries exam passed • Solid understanding of basic actuarial concepts • Ability to work independently and within a team • Effective communication skills, with the ability to express technical concepts verbally and in writing to diverse audiences • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Curiosity • Strong desire to learn • Excellent attention to detail • Ability to learn existing processes quickly • Ability to apply knowledge and concepts to a variety of different tasks • Strong organizational abilities and time-management skills • Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future • Prior internship(s) in health and/or actuarial-related work experience is beneficial but not required • Exposure to programming (R, SAS, SQL, Python, VBA) is beneficial but not required • Junior or Senior standing, or recently graduated is preferred, but not required
