Mission Economic Development Agency is a San Francisco-based nonprofit that advances economic mobility for Latino and low-income residents of the Mission District through direct services, community real estate development, policy advocacy, and financial capability programs. For over 50 years MEDA has provided free tax preparation and financial coaching, small-business lending and technical assistance, workforce training, education and family supports, eviction defense, and has developed thousands of units of affordable housing to help families stay rooted and build generational wealth.

📋 Description

• Oversee the company's long-term financial health by leading financial planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting • Ensure compliance with regulations • Manage cash flow and provide strategic financial advice to leadership • Prepare financial statements and work to increase profits and reduce costs • Lead day-to-day non-real estate accounting operations and supervise the Corporate Controller and their team • Develop and implement long-term financial strategies and budgets • Analyze financial performance and prepare detailed reports for management • Establish internal financial processes and controls

🎯 Requirements

• CPA (California) • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field • 7-10 years previous experience in financial management, corporate finance, and accounting • 5 years progressive management experience • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, accounting software, and corporate financial principles. • Advanced Excel skills • Nonprofit and Sage MIP software a plus • Excellent analytical skills, strong leadership abilities, and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise senior management and present financial data.
