📋 Description

• Lead a pod of bookkeepers and accountants serving a defined client portfolio • Run weekly 1:1s and weekly pod huddles • Review month-end deliverables before they reach clients • Provide constructive feedback and develop team members • Balance assignments and monitor pod capacity • Serve as first point of escalation for client questions, team blockers, and process questions • Maintain a small personal client portfolio • Coach bookkeepers and accountants toward career progression • Partner with the Onboarding team on new client handoffs • Maintain accurate projects, tasks, and statuses in Teamwork • Surface SOP gaps and workflow improvements to the Accounting Manager • Maintain performance check-ins, development goals, and weekly pulse updates in Small Improvements • Drive on-time delivery, quality, team development, client satisfaction, team health, and process improvement outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 4 to 6 years of full-cycle, accrual-based accounting experience • 1+ year in a lead, senior, or supervisory capacity (formal or informal) • Fluent in GAAP, monthly close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation • Strong proficiency in Xero and QuickBooks Online • Coaching mindset and ability to develop people • Ability to track turnaround times, on-time delivery, and quality metrics • Strong written and verbal communication • Ability to manage time and team time independently in a remote environment • Calm under pressure during month-end • CPA, EA, or active progress toward licensure (nice to have) • Prior experience at a CAS firm or outsourced accounting firm (nice to have) • Experience with Gusto, Bill.com, Reach Reporting, Expensify, Divvy, Relay, Ramp, Brex, PayPal, Stripe, and Shopify (nice to have) • Multi-client experience (nice to have) • Familiarity with service-based, SaaS, and manufacturing/inventory sectors (nice to have) • Familiarity with Teamwork and 15Five (nice to have)
