📋 Description

• Continuously monitor online spaces relevant to targeted violence to identify threats toward public officials, vulnerable communities, and critical infrastructure • Draft weekly intelligence reports and flash bulletins with evidence-based sections and analytical assessments • Identify, collect, and analyze information from social media, violent extremist materials, and other sources covered by in-house tools • Maintain databases and regularly review social media and messaging platforms for project inclusion • Research and draft deep dives into trends and themes within online extremist ecosystems • Work to demanding, high-tempo reporting schedules for clients • Develop and share subject matter expertise related to violent extremism and online harms across the organization • Participate in client briefings and adjust delivery and framing for the audience • Identify monitoring or reporting workflow inefficiencies and propose process improvements to team leadership • Build client relationships and support business development by identifying opportunities for new projects

🎯 Requirements

• Professional, academic, or independent research experience monitoring extremist or violent online ecosystems • Comfort working with content depicting violence and harassment • Professional experience using OSINT methods for analysis and investigation, particularly across mainstream and fringe social media platforms • Strong analytical writing and ability to distinguish evidence from assessment • Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and develop innovative solutions to complex research issues • Ability to scan large volumes of data and identify valuable information • Experience using AI tools for research or writing workflows, or strong interest in learning • Ability to work under strict timelines and manage workload independently and collaboratively • Demonstrated ability to independently manage ongoing work with minimal oversight • Excellent teamwork and flexibility in responding to challenges • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Must be eligible to work in the US and pass relevant security clearance procedures as required by clients • Familiarity with threat assessment frameworks • Background in political violence, security studies, or a related field • Understanding of different ideological threat landscapes • Experience with social listening tools • Familiarity with SQL, Python, Tableau, or Kibana • Interest in deepening subject matter expertise and taking greater ownership of reporting streams • Fluency in languages other than English, particularly Arabic, is desirable
