📋 Description

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle bodily injury claims and related coverages • Handle personal and commercial auto, uninsured and underinsured motorists, homeowners’ liability, commercial liability and limited litigation claims • Review and analyze coverage, policy conditions, provisions, exclusions, endorsements, limits, deductibles and co-insurance • Investigate and gather information, including taking statements, to determine facts of loss, liability and subrogation potential • Manage and continuously evaluate claims, including injury severity, causality and relatedness of medical treatment • Conduct medical history investigations as necessary • Determine and continually evaluate appropriate reserves • Establish action plans and use appropriate resources to move files toward resolution • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle a minimum average of 20 losses per month • Comply with claims policies, best practices and jurisdictional guidelines • Complete comprehensive reports and authorization requests • Use multiple claims systems and manage effective follow-up practices • Serve as a member of claims teams as assigned • Maintain knowledge of claims processes, procedures, systems, fair claims practices laws, compliance issues and business developments • Communicate with stakeholders, including resolution specialists • Attend required seminars and workshops • Travel occasionally as required • Perform other duties and special assignments supporting business needs

🎯 Requirements

• Reside and work in one of the eligible U.S. states: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wisconsin • College degree or equivalent • Considerable experience as a claims resolution specialist or equivalent experience in the industry or a related field • Strong understanding of insurance and the claims organization • Excellent telephone and personal claims negotiations, communication and investigation skills • Understanding of tort law • Thorough knowledge of medical terms and treatments • Ability to obtain, analyze and evaluate medical history and documentation • Detail-oriented organizational skills • Proven ability to evaluate serious and complicated injury claims and negotiate to a successful conclusion • Excellent knowledge of all personal and commercial lines policies and coverage written by the company • Obtain state licensing as required • Continuing education through AIC and/or CPCU designations or another accredited insurance education provider is strongly preferred
