📋 Description

• Accurately code and abstract outpatient medical records according to work assignments and expected productivity standards • Accurately code and abstract complex outpatient surgery procedures • Assign ICD10-CM diagnosis and CPT-4 procedure codes according to established national and departmental guidelines and the AHIMA Code of Ethics • Maintain an organized system for personal coding reference material • Participate in educational activities and maintain coding skills

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information is required • CCS certification and 2 years coding experience will be considered • Certification as a Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is required • Two years’ previous coding experience using ICD10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems • Must meet vaccination or lab-confirmed immunity requirements for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella • Must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year hired and annually thereafter, or have an approved medical or religious exemption
