📋 Description

• Monitor compliance with nutrition and food service policies and procedures for the Department • Provide technical assistance regarding nutrition and food service • Conduct on-site institutional audits of regional operations • Monitor therapeutic diet compliance, meal preparation, meal service, and operational issues • Certify that the Department’s Master Menu and Therapeutic Diet Menus comply with Dietary Reference Intakes established by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences • Provide clinical expertise for nutrition-related procedure and manual updates • Liaise between food service and health service staff • Review and recommend medical nutrition therapy • Notify senior management about program issues, problems, and policies • Provide technical assistance, training, and guidance on menu planning, nutritional practices, food safety, and sanitation • Consult with Department staff to develop solutions to problems • Prepare monthly diet compliance reports, schedules, facility reviews, correspondence, and work projects • Monitor diet prescriptions and consult with Health Services to ensure appropriate diets are ordered • Plan and analyze specialized diets according to medical nutrition therapy guidelines and the Department of Corrections Diet Manual • Perform other duties as required

🎯 Requirements

• Official transcripts will be required if a college/university degree is submitted and the candidate is selected • Must possess a valid driver license • Nutritionist positions require registration with the American Dietetic Association as a Registered Dietitian (RD) and licensing in the State of Florida meeting Chapter 468, Part X, Florida Statutes, or eligibility to practice dietetics under Chapter 64B8-40 to 45, Florida Administrative Code • Must pass a Level 2 background check before starting work • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. • FDC does not currently support H-1B Visa Sponsorship • Preferred: experience monitoring and evaluating menu preparation and service in an institutional setting • Registered Dietitian-eligible candidates must perform duties under Registered Dietitian Nutritionist supervision and approval; practice parameters are limited until fully registered • Minimal overnight travel may be necessary
