📋 Description

• Verify insurance companies and primary care physicians online or by phone to obtain benefit information • Complete billing tasks in a timely manner • Call primary care physicians to obtain referrals and/or authorizations when required • Inform patients regarding insurance benefits, copays, deductibles, and self-pay balances • Enter authorization numbers in the EMR with correct CPT codes, NPI, Tax ID, PCP, and payer information • Follow up with PCPs or insurance companies regarding requested authorizations • Cancel and reschedule appointments when authorizations have not arrived before the date of service • Verify patient insurance information and expire inactive payers • Answer phones, handle requests and inquiries, or route them accordingly • Document referrals, communications, insurance details, and patient data in the EMR • Gather information and accurately enter codes for insurance billing purposes

🎯 Requirements

• Customer Service experience • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment • Ability to handle and diffuse patient complaints and disagreements • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills • Experience navigating Electronic Medical Records and Outlook preferred • Bilingual in English/Spanish • For remote or hybrid roles, must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings
