📋 Description

• Verify and collect patient demographic and insurance information through direct data entry into the electronic medical record during scheduling and referrals • Conduct face-to-face or inbound/outbound telephone interviews with patients or authorized representatives • Document discussions and referral/scheduling activities in the encounter, schedule book, and patient chart • Navigate web-based products and system applications for registration and scheduling • Identify patients and enter clinical, demographic, and insurance information accurately • Explain scheduled procedures and necessary patient instructions • Document patient visits, provider contacts, orders, insurance verification, financial education, and payments • Explain legal forms and secure required signatures • Identify insurance carriers and document eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements • Submit notifications and secure authorizations for medical services, surgical procedures, and inpatient/observation stays • Educate patients about insurance eligibility, coverage, and medical financial assistance programs • Collect patient financial liabilities and perform payment entry and cash reconciliation • Perform PBX switchboard functions, answer and route calls, page codes and fire alarms, and respond to assigned call volumes • Support clinical departments with registration, scheduled-service data entry, provider orders, insurance coverage, and financial-assistance questions • Report safety incidents through the Midas/RDE tool and monitor the work environment for safety issues • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, statutes, and company policies • Complete mandatory modules and job-specific training

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED — Required • Medical Terminology Coursework — Preferred • Basic computer skills, including keyboarding at 25–35 words per minute — Preferred • 1 year of call center or customer service experience, or 1 year of experience in a medical facility — Preferred • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint — Preferred • Ability to navigate web-based products or system applications for registration and scheduling • Basic understanding of EMTALA and HIPAA-Privacy Patient Confidentiality regulations • Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis coding documentation • Basic knowledge of Medicare, AHCCCS/Medicaid, Workers Comp, and commercial payer requirements • Understanding of computers and competence using basic software programs • Must keep required certifications and/or licenses up to date if required for the position • Must complete mandatory modules and job-specific training within the specified timeframe • Residence in one of NAH's eligible remote-hiring states: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Texas
