📋 Description

• Set technical direction for a solutions team building analytics and AI solutions for business stakeholders • Own technical design and architecture; drive design reviews and build-vs-buy and technology decisions • Translate business needs into technical designs and deliverable milestones • Establish engineering standards for modeling, pipelines, testing, CI/CD, and observability • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud data pipelines and transformations • Develop governed data models and semantic layers for self-service analytics, dashboards, and data products • Develop AI solutions using agentic workflows, RAG/retrieval, and LLM pipelines • Write production-grade SQL and Python and contribute to shared frameworks and tooling • Lead root-cause analysis and durable fixes for complex data issues • Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools across development, testing, documentation, and operations • Define and scale AI-native engineering practices and compliance guardrails • Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and design coaching • Partner on technical hiring, onboarding, and skills development • Implement data quality checks, contracts, lineage, and monitoring • Own SLAs, incident response, and compute and storage cost efficiency • Ensure PHI and genomic-data pipelines meet HIPAA, CLIA, and internal security and governance requirements • Work with business stakeholders and platform teams; represent the team in architecture, governance, and tool-evaluation forums

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of data or software engineering experience • 2+ years leading technical design and delivery for a team or major workstream • Ability to mentor engineers, run design and code reviews, drive technical consensus, and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences • Hands-on daily use of AI coding assistants and agentic tools • Expert-level SQL and strong Python • Experience shipping and operating production data pipelines and data models at scale • Deep experience with a modern cloud data warehouse and cloud infrastructure; Snowflake/AWS preferred • Hands-on experience with dbt or equivalent transformation frameworks • Experience with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar workflow orchestration • 1–2 years of practical experience building with LLM frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph, managed AI services, model routing gateways, and foundational APIs • Strong grounding in analytical data modeling, semantic layers, data quality engineering, and CI/CD for data systems • Preferred: experience in healthcare, life sciences, or another regulated domain handling PHI or sensitive data • Preferred: experience with lab data management, lab informatics, or bioinformatics pipelines • Preferred: Snowflake performance tuning, cost management, dynamic tables, Snowpark, or Cortex • Preferred: Sigma or comparable BI and semantic-layer tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI • Preferred: agentic or LLM-based workflows within the data development lifecycle • Preferred: Terraform and data observability tooling • Preferred: Salesforce, laboratory information systems, or EHR integrations • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
