📋 Description

• Serve as a regional subject matter expert on child sex trafficking response and trauma-informed, youth-centered intervention • Reach out to child welfare professionals and multidisciplinary team members supporting youth with active NCMEC missing-child cases • Provide individualized assistance including recovery planning, safety planning, youth engagement strategies, specialized resource connections, and troubleshooting system barriers • Conduct strategic outreach and cultivate relationships with victim service providers, child welfare agencies, child advocacy centers, task forces, and regional resources • Maintain up-to-date regional resources, laws, policies, processes, and child sex trafficking response contacts • Document case efforts and activities accurately within required timelines • Coordinate with NCMEC case managers, analysts, supervisors, and teams across multiple divisions • Develop materials and resources for CST support and psychoeducation • Provide technical assistance on operational child sex trafficking recovery plans • Share promising practices, research, case examples, and recovery-planning resources with the Recovery Services Team • Provide presentations and trainings on NCMEC resources and RST services • Communicate NCMEC programs, resources, and data to internal and external stakeholders • Respond to correspondence and calls, follow organizational policies, and perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience providing direct services to survivors of child sex trafficking • Practical knowledge and experience providing individualized technical assistance to professionals on trauma-informed response, stages of change, safety planning, and strength-based youth engagement • Demonstrated experience participating in recovery response or planning efforts related to child sex trafficking victims • Experience professionally challenging misunderstandings, bias, and attitudes about exploited runaway youth • Strong knowledge of child sex trafficking topics in the United States, including vulnerabilities, trafficking tactics, victim services, survivor-informed efforts, policy, and legislation • Demonstrated success managing and forging relationships with diverse local and national anti-trafficking stakeholders • Ability to synthesize complex topics and communicate them effectively to relevant audiences • Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, and mediation skills • Ability to work with difficult or disturbing case situations • Strong organizational, interpersonal, prioritization, problem-solving, adaptability, and flexibility skills • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Excel, and ability to learn new software systems • Ability to balance projects, meet deadlines, and ensure project deadlines are met • Ability to handle and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive material and information • Ability to successfully pass background screening, including fingerprinting, criminal history check, and professional references • Must be eligible to apply for Virginia Criminal Information Network certification • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful U.S. resident for the past 10 consecutive years for VCIN certification eligibility • Must live in a state within the designated Region 2 as a condition of employment • Ability to travel as needed and provide occasional after-hours, weekend, evening, or overnight response • Preferred, not required: LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LPA licensure • Experience working within or interfacing with child welfare agencies strongly preferred • Experience with marginalized youth and communities strongly preferred
