📋 Description

• Analyze Control-M and/or Atomic schedules on mainframe • Maintain, troubleshoot, and investigate JCL jobs on mainframe, including spool and SMF • Analyze CICS environments for loaded programs and configuration • Work with ISPF, GDG, PDS, and MFT for migration investigation • Support conversion of mainframe batch jobs (JCL) to PowerShell scripts for Azure • Help configure and automate nightly, weekly, and monthly batch jobs in Azure • Optimize batch job performance through concurrency, multithreading, and thread safety • Discover and document business requirements for batch jobs • Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify technical and operational expectations • Develop and maintain PowerShell modules, including code signing and security practices • Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and troubleshooting sessions • Work with cross-functional front-end, back-end, database, and mainframe teams • Analyze, transform, and migrate legacy JCL-based batch workloads to modern platforms such as Azure, distributed systems, or cloud-native architectures • Ensure functional equivalence, performance stability, and minimal disruption during mainframe modernization and rehosting projects

🎯 Requirements

• Expert in Mainframe JCL • Expert in Mainframe Job Scheduler, especially Control-M • Expert in Mainframe CICS, especially familiarity with CA Ideal • Strong experience with PowerShell scripting and automation in Azure • Expert knowledge of mainframe batch job concepts, including JCL, GDG, and PDS • Experience with C#/.NET, SQL Server, and Azure Storage • Understanding of thread safety, locking mechanisms, and concurrency in scripting • Experience with migration projects, preferably mainframe to cloud • Ability to interpret and convert JCL scripts to PowerShell • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Experience with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams • Experience with operationalizing batch jobs
