📋 Description

• Serve as the front door of Legal by owning intake, triaging and routing requests, tracking status, and ensuring follow-through • Lead implementation of Nex's first CLM system, including workflow design, templates, approval routing, finance and e-signature integration, and reporting • Build contract lifecycle processes for drafting support, redlining coordination, approvals, execution, repository, and renewal tracking • Design template and playbook libraries for high-volume agreement types • Establish signature and approval workflows, delegation of authority guidelines, e-signature administration, and notarization coordination • Own Nex's employment-related form library and keep templates current • Support corporate governance, including board and committee materials, minutes, written consents, minute books, equity documentation, and corporate records • Manage legal aspects of international entities, including formations, dissolutions, foreign qualifications, registered agents, and local filings • Own trademark and brand licensing docketing and maintain the trademark portfolio calendar • Administer vendor and outside counsel relationships, including onboarding, billing oversight, budget tracking, and performance check-ins • Build legal knowledge management and document repositories and establish a records retention policy • Establish legal metrics and reporting for request volume, cycle times, contract turnaround, and outside counsel spend • Identify opportunities to use AI and automation in contract review, intake triage, and self-service • Partner cross-functionally to build efficient Legal processes • Support Trust & Safety program operations, including policy lifecycle management, project management, risk tracking, governance, metrics, documentation, vendor management, and coordination

🎯 Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in legal operations, corporate/contracts paralegal work, or a similar operational role • Experience ideally including time at a high-growth startup or consumer products/hardware company • Experience administering a CLM or similar workflow system, such as Ironclad, SpotDraft, DocuSign CLM, or comparable • Experience supporting corporate governance at a private company, ideally including multi-entity or international structures • Ability to work across intake triage, contract drafting support, governance, entity management, insurance, and vendor management • Strong project management and organizational skills • Excellent judgment and discretion handling sensitive and confidential information • Strong cross-functional communication skills • Curiosity about applying AI tools to legal operations work • Experience in consumer hardware, consumer electronics, gaming, or toy/kids' products is nice to have • Familiarity with retail and distribution contracting, brand/IP licensing agreements, or international expansion and entity setup is nice to have • Experience supporting a fundraise, board of directors, or investor reporting cadence is nice to have • Notary Public commission or willingness to obtain one is nice to have • Exposure to privacy or children's data compliance frameworks, or product safety/import-export compliance, is nice to have
