• Manage financial review, accounting, and reporting for assigned grants, including federal grants subject to Single Audit requirements. • Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition for grants and contributions in accordance with GAAP, FASB guidance, and OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200). • Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to grant revenue, expense allocations, and releases from restricted net assets. • Maintain grant revenue, grant receivable, and net asset release schedules; reconcile schedules to the general ledger and trial balance each month. • Partner with Program, Lending, and Finance teams to prepare grant financial reports and ensure alignment with funder agreements. • Support post-award compliance and monitoring processes and serve as a primary accounting contact for grant-related audits. • Prepare grant-related documentation and schedules for the annual financial audit and federal Single Audit. • Maintain NMTC fund-related accounting records in accordance with GAAP and fund accounting standards. • Reconcile NMTC fund bank accounts and related general ledger balances. • Record quarterly accruals of NMTC asset management fee revenue and maintain related schedules. • Track and reconcile expenses paid by NFF on behalf of NMTC funds; prepare and invoice receivables for reimbursement. • Review quarterly and annual NMTC fund financial statements and draft tax returns prepared by external auditors and advisors prior to investor distribution. • Support NMTC fund exits, including cash reconciliations, final financial statements, audits, and tax filings. • Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls related to NMTC activity, identifying opportunities for efficiency and consistency. • Contribute to monthly and quarterly close activities, including restricted fund reconciliations and reporting. • Partner with Finance leadership on financial systems modernization, process improvement, and automation efforts. • Support cross-functional projects related to financial technology implementation, workflow redesign, and continuous improvement. • Participate in internal and external meeting, department meetings, training sessions, and cross-functional collaboration as appropriate.
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field or equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and relevant experience • Seven (7) years of progressive professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization • Demonstrated experience with nonprofit Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), restricted fund accounting, cost allocation, and audit support • Working knowledge of federal grant compliance and reporting requirements • Strong proficiency with accounting systems, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel
