📋 Description

• Independently perform recurring accounting activities supporting the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of NFF’s financial operations • Prepare and analyze financial information • Complete account reconciliations and resolve routine accounting issues • Process accounts payable invoices, expense reports, and payment requests • Review invoices and supporting documentation for completeness, coding accuracy, and policy compliance • Assist with weekly payment processing and vendor setup • Respond to accounts payable and payment-status inquiries • Maintain organized financial records and documentation for organizational practices and audits • Prepare recurring journal entries and supporting schedules • Perform balance-sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies • Maintain accurate financial records in the accounting system • Support month-end and year-end close activities and prepare related financial reports • Assist with audits and financial reviews • Support finance operations, process improvements, and special projects • Collaborate with Finance team members and cross-functional partners • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and cross-functional collaboration • Report to the Director, Finance & Accounting • Work core business hours from 9 am to 5 pm local time and travel occasionally (20%)

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or relevant experience • Two (2) years of relevant accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or finance experience • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, and internal controls • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in transactional and financial work • Demonstrated organization skills and ability to independently manage recurring responsibilities • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or financial systems • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify, research, and resolve routine accounting discrepancies • Commitment to NFF’s values, mission, and approach to community impact • Understanding of CDFIs and their role in nonprofit financing • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment • Ability to build strong, trust-based relationships across geographies and time zones in a highly matrixed organization • Ability to leverage online collaboration tools, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office • Must be based in the United States; NFF does not employ individuals based outside of the United States
