📋 Description

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient visit types • Assign Evaluation and Management codes for physician encounters • Thoroughly review medical records and available documentation • Code diagnoses, procedures, and evaluation and management services • Collaborate with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and other clinical areas • Interpret health record documentation to report appropriate diagnoses and procedures • Resolve NCCI, NCD/LCD, and other outpatient edit claim failures • Meet established coding productivity and quality standards • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Must reside in IL, IN, IA, WI, OH, MO, MI, or FL • 3 years of experience in an acute healthcare setting • RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC certification • AHIMA or AAPC membership • Part-time schedule of 20 hours per week • Expertise in ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding • Expertise with HCPC Level I and II procedural codes • Knowledge of NCD/LCD and NCCI edits • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease process, pharmacology, and medical terminology • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, Coding Clinic, Coding Clinic for HCPCs, CPT Assistant, coding conventions, and instructional notes • Minimum 95% coding accuracy • Preferred: RHIA/RHIT with CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC • Preferred: 4 years of experience in an acute healthcare setting • Preferred: 4 years of experience in a professional setting
