📋 Description

• Provide field coaching, mentorship, and management to field-based Medical Liaisons • Develop and implement strategies for managing key opinion leader, organized provider, academic institution, integrated delivery network, and other healthcare provider relationships • Ensure collaboration between field-based Medical Liaisons and other Novo Nordisk units and personnel • Represent Field Medical Affairs throughout the US affiliate and globally when needed • Support administration and management of the field-based FMA program • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures • Establish operating policies and procedures, budgets, schedules, and performance standards • Lead and participate in area and national projects, team meetings, training, medical meetings, and symposia • Maintain knowledge of Novo Nordisk products, scientific research, and publications • Present at assigned symposia and develop relationships with key healthcare providers • Participate in Marketing and Sales meetings and provide industry insight • Identify investigators for clinical trials and future research areas • Respond to medical questions in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company guidelines • Review expense reports, time and activities, budgets, plans, and performance • Coordinate financial, product, technical, educational, consulting, and clinical-study support requests • Work with field-based Regional and MM teams to develop thought-leader relationships • Assist with presentations and product and clinical-data education for company meetings • Recruit and select staff and ensure vacancies are filled promptly • Set and review annual goals, coach personnel on IDPs, and communicate policies and organizational changes • Coordinate training and development approaches with other Field Directors • Ensure personnel understand strategic and therapeutic priorities and accountability for results • Evaluate Medical Liaisons in the field and provide documented feedback and guidance • Mentor Field Directors, Medical Liaisons, and RMSs • Prepare Medical Liaisons for field activities by reviewing agendas and presentation decks • Develop reporting personnel’s technical, scientific, business, communication, and motivational skills • Spend field time with direct reports to coach and develop personnel • Conduct workforce assessments to identify talent gaps and resource needs • Ensure individual development plans, annual goals, interim reviews, learning plans, and aspiration plans are in place

🎯 Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in Medical Liaison or equivalent role • 6 years of previous management experience, including at least 2 years leading field medical affairs personnel • 8 years of progressive pharmaceutical industry experience • At least 3 years of healthcare system experience preferred • Advanced healthcare or science degree such as DO, MD, PharmD, PhD, or DNP required • Direct therapeutic-area experience preferred • Proven success establishing relationships with opinion leaders and organized providers • Strategy and team-management experience • Significant cross-functional collaborative leadership capabilities • Ability to establish and strengthen internal and external customer relationships • Ability to proactively identify, address, and resolve team-wide challenges • Ability to work autonomously and strategically with minimal supervision • Commitment to self-development and keeping current with scientific literature and competitors • Ability to navigate field medical personnel through a rapidly changing market • Leadership and strategic-thinking skills • 50–75% overnight travel required • Must reside in the US, preferably on the west coast or near a major airport • Valid driver's license required • Must remain within Novo Nordisk’s motor-vehicle-record points threshold
