📋 Description
• Reviews and codes complex hospital services and in-patient procedures • Utilizes coding guidelines to assign ICD and CPT codes • Ensures compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer guidelines • Collaborates with the Clinical Documentation Improvement team • Ensures accurate DRG assignment and works closely with management to resolve problems
🎯 Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent • Completion of AHIMA accredited coding program with certification preferred • 3 years coding experience • Certification as a CCS, CIC, RHIA, or RHIT required • Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, and coding principles • Computer skills, proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to role
