📋 Description

• Extend and harden Ocient’s 120+ geospatial function library across accessors, constructors, measures, predicates, spatial operators, relationships, transformations, and parsers/formatters • Ensure numerical correctness for spherical and spheroid WGS84 computations, including geodesics, great-circle distance, area, antimeridian and pole handling, degenerate geometries, and precision behavior • Improve spatial performance and indexing across trillion-row datasets through spatial indexing, pruning, partitioning, bounding-volume acceleration, vectorized evaluation, and planner integration • Deepen spatiotemporal analytics, including trajectory reconstruction, interpolation, movement analysis, and co-location analysis • Connect geospatial capabilities with spatial clustering, geographic nearest-neighbor search, in-database ML, and other analytical engine surfaces • Translate telco, adtech, and national-security customer workloads into engine capabilities with Product and customer-facing teams • Write design documents, tests, and documentation to make spatial behavior explicit and prevent regressions • Own meaningful components of the geospatial engine end to end, from spherical-math correctness to hyperscale query performance

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building production software systems • Solid experience in C++ or comparable systems-level work with willingness to work primarily in C++ • Solid grasp of computational geometry and spherical/geodetic geometry • Exposure to geospatial data, standards, or libraries such as WGS84, OGC/WKT/WKB, GEOS, S2, H3, or PostGIS • Comfort with profiling, algorithmic optimization, and reasoning about work at scale • Strong numerical correctness and edge-case testing and documentation skills • Ability to work across teams and codebases and turn ambiguous requirements into concrete solutions • Candidates must be based in the United States • Employer cannot sponsor or transfer visas of any kind • Candidates must keep their camera on for the duration of video interviews • Video filters, face-altering effects, and virtual backgrounds are not permitted during interviews
