📋 Description

• Accurately post manual and electronic patient and insurance payments, adjustments, and denials • Locate remittances and payments in portals and clearinghouses • Read and interpret EOBs • Apply copay, coinsurance, and deductible balances to patient responsibility • Review patient account balances to determine posting accuracy • Perform payment deposit downloads and bank reconciliations • Complete daily cash reconciliation and reporting • Research and resolve unapplied accounts • Cross-train, assist with training, cover for team members, and support other projects as needed • Identify and report trends and issues • Prepare, reconcile, and complete local bank deposits for mail patient, insurance, accounting, and other hospital/clinic department payments, except for home-based candidates • Maintain and reconcile petty cash funds and process point-of-service patient payments, except for home-based candidates • Post monthly agency payment reports • Resolve unidentified deposits • Work posting issue work queues

🎯 Requirements

• Ability to read, speak, and write fluent English • Data entry experience • Familiarity with computers and MS/Excel applications • Basic to intermediate Excel skills preferred • Developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management, peers and clients • Excellent written and verbal communications • Ability to work as a team member and maintain effective working relationships • Ability to work independently in a quiet, dedicated workspace from home in a fast-paced, changing and goal-oriented environment • Detail oriented with strong multitasking, resourcefulness, and critical thinking skills • Excellent time management and organizational skills • 3-5 years of prior direct cash handling experience in a healthcare setting preferred • High school diploma or GED equivalent required • Reliable high-speed internet connection required for the home-based remote position
