📋 Description

• Function as overall Site Manager during the Site Manager’s off rotation • Develop scopes of work for review and approval • Assist with project schedule development and management • Prepare self-performed work estimates and assist with complete project estimates • Function as Site Manager for small projects under $5 million when applicable • Manage multiple divisions of work and construction means and methods • Solicit subcontractor, vendor, and supplier pricing; assist with bidder selection, negotiate final prices, and draft subcontracts and purchase orders • Prepare cost-to-complete, monthly billing, status, and progress-tracking reports • Review and maintain current architectural, structural, shop, and other drawings in the field • Plan construction procedures, schedules, staffing, materials, equipment, and tools • Locate, evaluate, and select potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers • Price work, draft changes and change orders, and support customer satisfaction • Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up through completion • Establish and maintain safety and quality standards • Serve as on-site safety lead when none is assigned; stop work, discipline team members, and remove team members/subcontractors when necessary • Make on-the-spot safety and quality decisions and resolve issues while considering financial impact • Procure tools and materials for scheduled delivery • Direct supervisors and subcontractors in construction planning, specifications, and phase coordination • Resolve workforce complaints and grievances • Review progress, materials, and cost reports and adjust schedules accordingly • Provide expert advice for specific work divisions • Meet with customers and refer requested changes to the Site Manager and Project Manager • Work with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors; ensure inspections and documentation comply with project requirements • Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s safety program on site • Train and manage subordinate team members; plan, assign, direct, reward, and discipline work • Indirectly manage subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and a minimum of three years of construction experience, or a minimum of five years of related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree • Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired, specifically within the food and beverage market • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents • Strong people management skills • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones • MS Project and other scheduling software a plus • Strong work ethic; energetic, self-motivated, and collaborative • Ability to think independently and manage without direction • Ability to travel to project sites throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside the U.S. • Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear • Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs • Accurate near and distant vision • Ability to work in wet/humid conditions, around moving mechanical parts, outdoors, at heights, around fumes/airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, explosives, vibration, and moderate-to-loud noise • Overtime may be required
