📋 Description

• Develop, implement, educate, and monitor clinical programs focused on Infection Control and Disease Prevention • Advise and support facilities in complying with State and Federal Survey Regulations for Medicare and Medicaid licensure and certification • Assist facilities with endemic, epidemic, and pandemic disease outbreaks • Assist Administrators and/or DONs with plans of correction and allegations of compliance for survey deficiencies • Monitor facility compliance with submitted plans of correction • Oversee reportable events submitted to the State Health Department • Train facility administration and staff on nursing standards and survey regulations • Assist with hiring, training, and disciplinary actions for Directors of Nursing • Conduct monthly Regional DON meetings and facility visits for training and development • Assist facilities with clinical, MDS, dietary, social services, and regulatory policies and education • Assist DONs in determining staffing structures and nursing PPD • Attend regional meetings and provide clinical insight • Provide oversight and direction to the MDS department • Conduct Regional monthly MDS meetings and monitor RAC audits • Develop regional tracking and trending reports for clinical metrics and CMS 5-star ratings • Assist facilities in improving CMS 5-star ratings • Support facility clinical risk management efforts • Assist facility defense attorneys with lawsuits, depositions, reports, and document production • Review record requests for appropriate document release • May act as an onsite Interim DON

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent Accredited Nursing Program Degree • Active and good-standing professional license with the State Board of Nursing • 20+ years of Clinical and Management experience preferred • MDS certification, Legal Nurse Consultant or Risk Management experience preferred • Previous Regional or Corporate Nurse experience preferred • Experience with CMS/OIG surveys including Jeopardy citations preferred • PCC knowledge • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds • Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer • Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear • Travel by auto or airline may be required
