• Maintain generators and diagnose and repair problems • Install and replace generator components or entire systems • Perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment • Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance to ensure generator readiness • Read and follow blueprints and other design specifications for installation and repair • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and other components • Test equipment for proper operation • Respond promptly to power/generator alarms • Participate in 24/7 on-call coverage when necessary or assigned • Follow safety practices and use safety equipment • Attend and participate in designated safety and training meetings • Service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers in the assigned region
• Minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes • Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance preferred • Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components • Moderate computer skills • Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations • Ability to comply with OSHA Standards • Ability to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods • Ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment and alarms effectively, visually and audibly • Willingness and ability to drive long distances and work daytime, evening, or night hours • Ability to work overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required • Ability to assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and be away from home for extended periods • Ability to pass a DOT physical • Willingness to travel • Must be able to respond promptly to power/generator alarms and assigned phone and email
