📋 Description

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates • Internalize scoring standards • Participate in discussions and consensus scoring activities with other scorers • Recognize and discuss implicit, cultural, leniency, central tendency, and halo-effect biases • Apply strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring • Meet scoring program quality and productivity requirements • Complete training before scoring begins • Attend a possible brief orientation meeting before the scoring day • Score intermittently one day every 8 weeks, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m.

🎯 Requirements

• Current teaching certification in the subject area applied for • Currently teaching or have taught in public or private schools within the last three years, including regular substitute teaching; OR be or have been an educator from a college or university who has taught or advised a content-relevant field within the last three years; OR hold a degree in the content area and have held professional employment in the content area within the last three years • Basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse use • Ability to sit for extended periods • Ability to maintain a confidential work environment • Eligible to work in the United States • Must pass a qualifying test before scoring • Applicable subjects: Business, Health, School Counselor, or Theater • Active and recently retired practitioners can be eligible
