📋 Description

• Architect and build new products end to end across front end, back end, data, and infrastructure • Take product concepts from architecture sketches to prototypes, pilots, and MVPs • Own integrations involving Pearson APIs and platforms, client learning platforms, HR systems, and identity providers • Implement OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, events, webhooks, LTI, SCORM, and xAPI integrations where applicable • Right-size engineering practices for concept tests versus production-grade products • Work directly with client technical teams on discovery, scoping, deployment, and debugging • Instrument products with telemetry and evaluation data for kill-or-scale decisions • Use AI in development workflows and, where appropriate, in products • Shape concepts, participate in research sessions, and assess feasibility • Partner with platform, security, and architecture teams on product integration • Serve as a senior individual contributor without direct reports

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience • Genuine full-stack range • Track record of building products from scratch as a founder, founding engineer, or member of a labs, incubation, or new-products team • Experience designing and consuming REST and GraphQL APIs • Experience with authentication and identity flows • Experience with eventing and moving data between systems • Systems thinking in complex enterprise environments • Pragmatic engineering judgment • Comfort with modern AI-assisted development • Strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences • Client-facing engineering communication • Nice to have: LTI, SCORM, xAPI, QTI, Caliper, 1EdTech, and LMS/LXP integration experience • Nice to have: W3C and WHATWG web standards knowledge • Nice to have: WCAG and practical accessibility knowledge • Nice to have: standards-body, committee, or working-group participation • Nice to have: experience turning research into build decisions
