📋 Description

• Define and own the 3–5 years product roadmap for the assigned product segment across instruments, consumables, and software • Develop NPI business cases covering market sizing, competitive positioning, financial modelling, and customer value quantification • Own gate progression for NPIs from concept through commercial launch approval • Translate Market Requirements Documents into product requirements and R&D briefs • Drive the long-term technology roadmap with R&D leadership • Build and maintain a structured voice-of-customer programme with at least 20 in-depth customer conversations annually • Monitor competitive intelligence and translate it into positioning and roadmap responses • Own global base pricing strategy with VP Product Line approval • Manage product segment P&L contribution, including revenue, gross margin, and portfolio profitability • Support AOP planning with revenue projections, volume forecasts, and investment requirements • Lead and develop NPI Product Managers and the Operations Product Manager • Coach NPI Product Managers in business cases, customer interviewing, and commercial programme discipline • Ensure clean handoffs between NPI and Operations Product Managers • Partner with the VP Product Line on investment prioritisation, AOP planning, and executive gate reviews • Collaborate with R&D, Strategic & Commercial Marketing, and Regional Product Managers on requirements, intelligence, roadmap, positioning, and launch planning

🎯 Requirements

• 10–15+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or commercial leadership in analytical instrumentation or scientific equipment • Demonstrated experience owning a product roadmap and leading NPI programmes through full commercialisation • Direct technical knowledge of the relevant product segment, such as atomic spectroscopy, chromatography, or materials characterisation, and its key application markets • Strong financial acumen, including product line P&L management, NPI business cases, and pricing strategy • Proven track record of leading and developing small product management teams • Ability to travel 25–30% for customer visits, conferences, and internal reviews • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline • Experience in a structured stage-gate NPI environment • Experience working in a matrixed organisation alongside segment marketing, technical, and regional commercial functions • Advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline preferred • Strong executive presence and ability to present product investment decisions clearly to senior leadership and major customers preferred
