📋 Description

• Correspond with teachers and parents about dissection and help animals by addressing their use in classrooms nationwide • Build and maintain relationships with school district leaders and decision makers to secure pilot program opportunities and execute dissection bans around the country • Assist with strategy and execution of legislation to end animal dissection in classrooms • Respond to science-related correspondence, including chick-hatching projects and bottle biology • Research schools and districts to identify opportunities to replace animals used for dissection • Monitor sources for opportunities to offer humane science options • Respond to incoming Kind Frog information requests • Represent TeachKind and perform outreach at science educator conferences • Proactively identify and contact schools about ending dissection • Write and coordinate dissection-related content on the TeachKind section of PETA.org • Monitor dissection hashtags on social media for TeachKind outreach opportunities • Travel to represent TeachKind and PETA at educational conferences and other events as needed • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor

🎯 Requirements

• Background in science education, ideally with at least two years of classroom teaching experience • Extensive knowledge of issues related to the use of animals in science education • Familiarity with scientific terminology and virtual dissection software • Exceptional verbal communication and writing skills, including excellent grammar and sentence structure • Knowledge of animal rights issues • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail • Strong phone skills for speaking with teachers and parents • Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines • Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. • Willingness and ability to travel • Must be at least 21 years of age • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license, at least three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
