📋 Description

• Help clients embed governance and stewardship into daily work • Support the design of tailored data governance programs, including processes, team structure, decision rights, and boundaries • Design policies and controls for effective data governance execution • Communicate governance concepts in business language and prepare presentations, training materials, and adoption guides • Facilitate data governance working groups and align business and technology stakeholders • Execute metadata management activities including cataloging, lineage capture, and stewardship workflows • Draft and maintain business rules, definitions, and data quality controls with business teams • Apply data quality processes including profiling, monitoring, and issue management • Support installation, configuration, rollout, and adoption of governance and metadata tools such as Collibra, Alation, Atlan, and Purview • Coach client staff on data stewardship practices • Provide input on access controls, privacy, and regulatory compliance • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business owners to embed governance into workflows, pipelines, modeling practices, and observability • Install and configure metadata/catalog tools in client environments • Build and curate catalogs with technical metadata, business glossaries, and lineage • Define user personas and design role-appropriate experiences • Tailor tool UX, workflows, dashboards, and search optimization to improve usability and adoption

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, and MDM roles • Hands-on experience with MDM tools (Semarchy, Profisee, Informatica, or equivalent) • Exposure to data quality tools and processes (Talend, Ataccama, or equivalent) • Strong communication skills to facilitate workshops, write clear business documentation, and present to mixed audiences • Ability to define and obtain alignment for definitions, business rules, and data quality controls • Familiarity with governance operating models and stewardship practices • Knowledge of privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA and how governance practices support compliance • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience • Willingness to travel up to 50% per month (10 of 20 business days) when required by clients • Preferred: experience leading or supporting data governance working groups or stewardship councils • Preferred: knowledge of data access provisioning, integration patterns, or lineage capture • Preferred: experience building adoption materials, training guides, or playbooks for governance programs • Preferred: prior client-facing consulting experience
