📋 Description

• Work with the search team to produce and review searches and title reports • Determine the legal conditions of properties • Ensure the quality of the final product before delivery to clients • Support the Customer Service team by communicating with customers regarding updates or clarifications • Receive and respond to order-related inquiries • Analyze completed title searches for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client-specific SOPs • Examine deeds, mortgages, property taxes, inheritance/estate taxes, deeds of trust, liens, judgments, easements, restrictions, bankruptcy filings, foreclosures, chancery proceedings, plats/maps, and other records • Determine property ownership and encumbrances and verify legal descriptions • Analyze chain of title and defects and prepare reports on title-related matters • Examine title records from outside abstractors and seek additional information when necessary • Synthesize title search information and prepare property reports and title commitments • Read and extract information from documents and enter it into reports or software • Work a full 8-hour day, 5 days a week

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years as a title abstractor/examiner is required, including online search experience • Familiarity with various state guidelines and searching state, city, county, and school property tax jurisdictions online • Attention to detail in reviewing and entering information and data from source documents resulting in accurate, clear, and professionally formatted title reports • Proficiency in various MS Office tools such as Word and Excel • Familiarity with various title search platforms is helpful but not necessary (SoftPro, Qualia, DataTrace, etc.) • Good judgment related to access to confidential borrower data • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team • Ability to work independently • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment • Remote work experience
