📋 Description

• Design, build and maintain automated tests for web applications and APIs across all product teams • Build end-to-end UI tests, API tests and integration tests • Establish shared automation patterns, tools and conventions for all teams • Help engineers write and maintain their own tests • Convert acceptance criteria and manual test cases into automated tests • Decide with teams what to automate and what to leave manual • Run automation in CI/CD pipelines and maintain fast, reliable test suites • Identify and fix flaky test causes • Build regression coverage for release testing and provide release-readiness input based on test results • Build automated checks comparing data between the legacy system and new system during migration • Create repeatable test data and environment setups • Write reproducible defect reports and collaborate with engineers on triage and fixes • Coordinate with an external QA team across time zones and hand over automated coverage • Report test coverage and suite health to product teams • Help product owners and engineers write testable acceptance criteria • Document automation practices • Coach developers to write and own tests, including tests written with agents • Help determine quality-gate placement in CI/CD pipelines and maintain high standards • Identify appropriate integration and contract testing between unit and full UI tests • Establish and review cross-team testing standards and best practices

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in software QA or test engineering, including 3+ years writing automated tests in code • Experience building and maintaining automation suites • Experience testing web applications and APIs at more than one level • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines • Strong programming skills in a language used for test automation, such as TypeScript or Python • Clear written and verbal communication, including with teammates in other time zones • Comfortable working with product owners and engineers across several teams and with an external QA team • A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience • Preferred: modern end-to-end testing framework such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium • Preferred: API testing frameworks and unit and integration testing alongside developers • Preferred: testing web applications, REST APIs and event-driven or message-based systems • Preferred: testing data migrations and verifying data matches between old and new systems • Preferred: CI/CD pipelines, feature flags and trunk-based development • Preferred: performance, accessibility or security testing • Preferred: Agile Scrum teams and Jira for test and defect tracking • Preferred: experience as the first QA hire or building test automation from scratch across several teams • Preferred: legal technology, court reporting, or document and transcript workflows
