📋 Description

• Handle complex homeowners property damage claims, including fire and water losses, appraisals, disputed damage claims, special investigations, and litigation • Establish rapport with insureds and maintain relationships with agents, underwriters, contractors, restoration vendors, and experts • Collaborate with Claims Examiners, Claims Adjusters, and Claims Associates • Review policies, claims, property damage estimates, photos, police reports, inspection reports, and related reports • Evaluate damage and coverage to determine amounts owed under applicable insurance policies • Request payments and manage correspondence with parties involved in claims • Document files and prepare and issue claim payment or denial letters when appropriate • Provide excellent customer service • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims using technical knowledge and human relations skills • Adjust reserves and provide reserve recommendations • Handle homeowners, dwelling fire, tenant, condo, and personal property claims • Ensure proper claims-process guidelines are followed • Review claims to determine whether costs are reasonable • Consult policy files to verify coverage • Evaluate damages to ascertain compensation amounts • Enter claims payments and maintain clean, concise file documentation • Confer with legal counsel on coverage, legal, or complex matters • Consult policy and/or hospital records • Examine photographs and statements • Listen to and/or watch audio or video surveillance • Record data and statements in reports • Evaluate information to determine claim handling • Negotiate with insureds and/or claimants to resolve claims • Work with attorneys, public adjusters, roofers, plumbers, and other contractors

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • Five+ years of relevant residential property and casualty work experience and/or training handling property and/or liability claims • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully • Works with integrity and ethics • Ability to read, write, and interpret routine correspondence and reports • Ability to use Claims systems (PTS and Image Right) • Experience using Xactimate and Xactanalysis • Texas adjuster license and other appropriate state adjuster licenses • Commitment to maintaining continuing education credits • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Ability to use a personal computer and standard office equipment • Ability to complete claims in a timely manner • Ability to follow policies and procedures • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Effective communication skills • Ability to work independently, assess workload, and plan to meet competing deadlines • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations • Ability to write and communicate clearly and informatively • Ability to cultivate teamwork and collaboration
