📋 Description

• Assist the department with course coverage as needed and assigned • Participate in required trainings, virtually or in person • Evaluate student essays in introductory English composition courses • Provide meaningful feedback to help students improve through their coursework • Meet grading and communication deadlines • Attend three faculty/staff meetings per year • Complete other in-person or virtual training as required • Perform other related duties as assigned • May require occasional local travel, potentially including overnight stays

🎯 Requirements

• Masters or PhD in English or English Composition/Writing • Additional educational or industrial experience desired • Ability to effectively evaluate student essays in introductory English composition courses and provide meaningful feedback • Successful completion of a background check • Current and/or ability to obtain Child Abuse, State Police, FBI Fingerprinting, and Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse clearances • Excellent working knowledge of the field • Ability to work well with administrative staff, faculty, and students • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and achieve desired results • Ability to evaluate and review curriculum • Problem-solving and conflict-management ability • Excellent written, verbal, listening, and public-speaking skills • Service-oriented focus on helping others • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. • Must not require employment visa sponsorship
