Postpartum Support International is a non-profit organization dedicated to perinatal and postpartum mental health. PSI provides direct peer support (including a multilingual helpline and online support groups), a provider directory, specialized resources for families (in English, Spanish and other languages), and an app for connecting to services. It also trains professionals, offers perinatal mental health certification (PMH-C), operates a psychiatric consultation program, promotes research and advocacy (e. g. , Mind the Gap initiative), and organizes conferences and public-awareness campaigns to advance maternal mental health.

📋 Description

• Facilitate daily engagement with help-seekers of the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline. • Deliver psychosocial support, referrals, and resources to pregnant and postpartum individuals, families, and support systems. • Serve as the primary contact for incoming telephonic, text, and chat inquiries. • Conduct assessments to determine the nature of contacts and provide immediate psychosocial support, evidence-based information, and brief interventions. • Educate help-seekers about perinatal mental health resources and services. • Refer help-seekers to appropriate services and resources within approved directories. • Maintain complete, accurate, detailed, and timely real-time case documentation in Salesforce. • Maintain professionalism in the virtual workspace and communicate with the remote team via Slack and other assigned platforms. • Ensure privacy and confidentiality of help-seekers and their information. • Attend and participate in scheduled meetings, trainings, and development exercises for the Hotline project.

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a related field (psychology, social work, counseling, etc.) is preferred. • Candidates must be one of the following: Licensed Mental Health Clinician, such as a Professional Counselor, Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Psychologist, or Marriage and Family Therapist; Licensed Healthcare Professional with experience in maternal and child health, such as a Nurse, Nurse Midwife, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Psychiatrist; or National or State-Certified Doula, Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator, or Peer Specialist. • Two (2) years’ work experience in your profession, working with the maternal and child health population. • Professional liability insurance coverage of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate. • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, internet browsers, and search directories. • Ability to manage conflict and tolerate distress while assisting help-seekers. • Must be able to multitask and handle potentially unpredictable and high-acuity contacts within the mental health environment. • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given instructions, routines, and accepted practices. • Ability to adapt to immediate changes and requirements in policies, procedures, processes, and guidances. • Must complete and clear a Non-Sensitive Tier II - Moderate Check and Clearance background check administered by HHS. • Must complete all training required by Postpartum Support International. • Must be able to commit to PSI’s vision and be passionate about its mission. • Must possess optimal high-speed internet. • Must utilize a quiet and secure office space for privacy and confidentiality. • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA and applicable federal, state, and local standards. • Ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear regularly; extensive computer use requires sufficient hand dexterity and ability to read a computer screen.
