📋 Description

• Lead database management for on-premises and cloud-based systems • Design and implement disaster recovery, failover, and backup strategies • Perform advanced database performance tuning and resource optimization • Lead and mentor DBAs and provide technical guidance • Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and vulnerability management • Develop and maintain SQL procedures, views, and scripts for production and reporting systems • Collaborate with system administrators, engineers, architects, and other teams on capacity planning and scalability • Troubleshoot complex database issues and drive incident resolution • Participate in strategic planning and product development meetings • Work with architects on database creation and ongoing maintenance • Make database technology recommendations and reduce technical debt • Maintain audit compliance and develop database standards • Communicate with stakeholders, senior leadership, customers, and other departments • Lead team meetings, planning, and requirements discussions • Delegate work and drive results for less senior team members • Build cross-functional relationships and support solution design • Track work across associates and engineers and prioritize tasks with minimal oversight • Identify vulnerabilities and schedule upgrades and patches

🎯 Requirements

• 4 or more years of applicable experience • Bachelor’s degree required • Expertise in managing RDBMS and cloud databases • Extensive experience with database performance tuning, disaster recovery, and failover techniques • Proven leadership in managing and mentoring teams and leading database projects • Strong experience with SQL, database automation, and scripting for database administration tasks • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services, particularly within the Azure ecosystem • Strong communication skills and ability to provide technical leadership and guidance • Knowledge of infrastructure design, methods and standards, and change management principles • Demonstrated understanding of UNIX/LINUX systems, shell scripting, automation, agile development, product management, and bug tracking tools • Ability to execute upgrades and patches • Project management skills and experience working with agile development teams • Understanding of relative estimation • Ability to adapt, change priorities quickly, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively • Attention to detail • Ability to operate computer programs and software • Ability to communicate effectively in person and electronically • Ability to make independent decisions • Ability to work in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions • Ability to travel 1–20% within the US
