📋 Description
• Oversee revenue cycle processes including charge entry, billing, claims, patient accounts receivable, and insurance accounts receivable • Verify claim information before billing • Review surgical coding for accuracy before billing • Process primary, secondary, and tertiary claims and address edits or rejections • Post patient, insurance, and third-party payments • Resolve insurance and self-pay credits • Process bad debt • Answer phones • Complete assigned duties and assist others as directed • Follow policies introduced during onboarding, updated in real time, and outlined in the Teammate Handbook
🎯 Requirements
• High School diploma or GED • Minimum 1–2 years of medical billing experience • CPC or other equivalent certification • Orthopedic coding experience is a plus • Experience with NextGen and Amkai billing systems preferred • Ability to navigate online payer portals and websites • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Outlook • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills • Understanding of HIPAA confidentiality and safety, risk management, and precautionary procedures • Clear oral and written communication • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and follow detailed instructions • Ability to manage multiple factors, adapt to change, and resolve first-level problems • Ability to use office equipment
