📋 Description

• Translate written survey materials from English to Spanish and vice versa while maintaining tone and meaning • Collaborate with the project team to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance • Interpret written Spanish comments in written English • Review translated materials and correct linguistic or contextual discrepancies • Contribute to high-quality survey materials for Spanish-speaking participants • Support a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration transportation safety survey on attitudes and behaviors related to alcohol and drug use • Meet project milestones and delivery schedules • Perform duties in a competent, professional, ethical, and thoroughly documented manner • Develop and maintain client relationships • Prepare technical documents, reports, proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules • Present information to management, clients, public groups, and boards of directors

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field • Native or near-native proficiency in both English and Spanish • Proven experience in translation and language interpretation • Exceptional attention to detail and cultural sensitivity • Strong written communication skills in English and Spanish • Previous experience in translation and language interpretation preferred • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical reports or journals • Ability to write scopes of work, budget estimates, schedules, reports of findings, proposals, correspondence, and technical documents • Ability to present information to top management, clients, public groups, and/or boards of directors • Clear vision and depth perception • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds • Ability to interact and communicate with clients at all levels • Ability to understand and communicate in written and spoken Spanish and English in the specialized field of Transportation Engineering • Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills • Strong oral and written communication skills • U.S. Citizenship required • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe • Understanding and proficiency with business tools and technology; advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word preferred, plus Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio proficiency • No H-1B or TN visa sponsorship available
