• Abstract newly diagnosed cancer cases • Assist with case identification • Perform quality control procedures on data • Respond to data inquiries • Maintain database records • Extract data • Submit reports to state and/or central registries
• College level curriculum in Cancer Data Management, or equivalent education/experience • Upon hire: National Oncology Data Specialist certification from the National Cancer Registrars Association • Associate's Degree preferred • Anatomy and Physiology coursework or completing courses preferred • Experience abstracting newly diagnosed cancer cases preferred • Experience working in an ACoS approved Cancer Registry preferred • Experience using Cancer Registry software, such as ONCOLog preferred
