📋 Description

• Provide concierge-level customer service to one of Group Insurance’s largest clients • Guide and coach client employees through the life cycle of disability claims • Manage an assigned block of approximately 75 Long-Term Disability and Short-Term Disability claims • Oversee complex claims involving co-morbidities, behavioral health issues, and self-reported symptoms • Address Behavioral Health and Vocational opportunities by engaging Expert Resources • Interact directly with the client’s Leave team during quarterly virtual meetings • Interface daily with the client’s Benefits Business Partners • Seek opportunities to enhance the claimant experience • Serve as an ambassador for continuous process improvement within the Concierge Team • Provide technical direction to other claims personnel as needed • Deliver exceptional service through telephone, email, letters, Teams messaging, group Teams calls, and video calls • Document telephone conversations and establish clear, concise claim plans • Perform financial calculations related to salary, incentives, partial disability, return-to-work incentives, and offsets • Work independently through ambiguous situations and adjust course quickly

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of LTD experience required • STD claim handling and Life Waiver of Premium experience and/or understanding preferred • Expert-level, proactive communication skills across telephone, email, letters, Teams messaging, group Teams calls, and one-on-one video calls • Energetic customer focus demonstrated through maintaining customer relationships • Confidence communicating with highly skilled and highly educated claimants in the software industry • Ability to interact confidently with attorneys and specialty medical professionals such as psychiatric providers • Excellent documentation skills for capturing telephone conversations and establishing clear, concise claim plans • Ability to comprehend and interpret complex and non-standard policy and plan provisions • Ability to work independently through ambiguous situations and adjust course quickly • Advanced math skills for financial calculations related to salary, incentives, partial disability, return-to-work incentives, and offsets • Ability to provide technical direction to other claims personnel as needed • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to leverage resources to attain goals • Ability to work virtually • Preference to be available during Pacific Time Zone business hours, or ability to work a later shift supporting West Coast customers • Internet service plan with at least 25 Mbps download speeds • Willingness to troubleshoot home internet issues or outages with the service provider • Capability to handle calls with a cell phone with unlimited data and minutes or a landline • Quiet home work area with minimal distractions and noise • Reliability and dependability throughout the extensive training program
