📋 Description

• Provide concierge-level customer service to one of Group Insurance’s largest clients • Gain deep understanding of the client’s culture and guide and coach employees through the disability claim life cycle • Manage an assigned block of approximately 75 Long-Term Disability and Short-Term Disability claims • Oversee complex claims involving co-morbidities, behavioral health issues, and self-reported symptoms • Deliver service across Short Term Disability, Statutory Leaves, Absence, Long Term Disability, and Life Waiver of Premium products • Engage Expert Resources to enhance the claim journey and address Behavioral Health and Vocational opportunities • Interact directly with the client’s Leave team during quarterly virtual meetings • Interface daily with the client’s Benefits Business Partners • Identify opportunities to improve the claimant experience and champion continuous process improvement • Provide technical direction to other claims personnel as needed

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of LTD experience required • STD claim handling and Life Waiver of Premium experience and/or understanding preferred • Expert-level, proactive communication skills across telephone, email, letters, Teams messaging, group Teams calls, and one-on-one video calls • Energetic customer focus and ability to maintain customer relationships • Confidence communicating with highly skilled and highly educated software-industry claimants • Ability to interact confidently with attorneys and specialty medical professionals, such as Psychiatric providers • Excellent documentation skills for telephone conversations and clear, concise claim plans • Ability to comprehend and interpret complex and non-standard policy and plan provisions • Ability to work independently through ambiguous situations and adjust course quickly • Advanced math skills for financial calculations related to salary and incentives, partial disability calculations, return-to-work incentives, and offsets • Ability to provide technical direction to other claims personnel as needed • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to leverage resources to attain goals • Ability to work virtually • Preference to work Pacific Time Zone business hours, or work a later shift supporting West Coast customers • Home internet service with at least 25 Mbps download speed and willingness to troubleshoot service issues • Capability to handle calls using a cell phone with unlimited data and minutes or a landline • Quiet, minimally distracting, noise-free area in the home • Reliability and dependability throughout the extensive training program
