• Lead the company's technical accounting function, focusing on revenue recognition for services provided under state Medicaid programs • Ensure accounting policies comply with U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 and related guidance • Work with Account Management, RCM, and FP&A to ensure appropriate revenue recognition across state contracts • Evaluate revenue recognition for state and county contracts with PMPM fees, per-transaction fees, cost-reimbursement arrangements, and hybrid fee structures • Review revenue-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and management reporting • Analyze variable consideration, price concessions, rate changes, retroactive adjustments, and contract modifications • Review new and renewed state contracts to determine recognition timing and treatment, including deferred fulfillment costs • Maintain revenue recognition policies and contract-specific technical accounting position papers and memos • Research and document accounting positions for complex transactions, including leases, equity-based compensation, and derivatives • Draft technical accounting memos and whitepapers supporting significant judgments and estimates • Monitor FASB updates and emerging guidance and document their impact • Support accounting for new state contract wins, program expansions, M&A, and financing activity • Design and maintain internal controls over revenue recognition, contract billing, and related accounts • Serve as primary contact for external auditors and lenders on revenue-related matters • Partner with RCM and Account Management to reconcile recognized revenue to state remittances and invoices • Support month-end and quarter-end close for revenue and related balance sheet accounts • Assist with external reporting requirements, including compliance certificates
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • CPA required (or actively pursuing) • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and/or technical accounting experience in industry • Strong, hands-on knowledge of ASC 606 and experience applying it to complex, non-standard contracts • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP • Excellent written communication skills, with demonstrated experience drafting technical accounting memos
