They lead advocacy efforts, provide resources and data on charter schools, and engage with policymakers to enhance the quality and availability of charter education options for families across the U. S.

📋 Description

• Improve state policy environments and build advocacy strength across a portfolio of states • Execute long-term advocacy strategies and respond to in-the-moment crises • Coordinate with state partners and internal policy, advocacy, legal, communications, and development teams • Work with state associations and partner organizations to improve state policy environments • Lead direct, on-the-ground advocacy efforts to pass pro-charter legislation in priority states • Build state association capacity in policy, advocacy, legal, communications, and development • Build local partnerships with allies • Mobilize diverse coalitions to support policy goals • Produce tools and resources for state charter school associations and partner organizations • Partner with communications, development, legal, research, state, and federal teams • Create fundable programming, write donor progress reports, and manage cross-team grant deliverables • Serve as the sector expert and go-to resource for advocacy related to public charter schools

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree is a plus • Minimum seven years of experience in advocacy • Knowledge and experience in advocacy • Experience collaborating with state and local partners to advance goals • Comfort communicating with important stakeholders and building honest, productive relationships • Passion for improving educational opportunities for children • Belief in strong public school options and school accountability as key elements of reform • Diagnostic mindset, creativity, and courage to take risks • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and operate as a self-starter • Passion, purpose, entrepreneurial spirit, and demonstrated accomplishments • Comfortable with frequent work travel, including occasional short-notice travel • Experience with 501(c)(4) and 527 entities and independent expenditure campaigns is a plus • Fundraising and donor relations experience is a plus
