📋 Description

• Hire, develop, and grow a civil structural engineering team • Provide engineering supervision and leadership while maintaining a limited project load • Work closely with the Engineering Director and provide technical oversight of engineers • Assist the Director of Engineering in meeting department goals • Recruit, select, orient, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees • Contribute engineering information and recommendations to strategic plans • Prepare and complete action plans and implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards • Resolve problems, complete audits, identify trends, and implement administrative system improvements and change • Provide oversight and technical and procedural direction throughout projects • Develop and maintain relationships with senior engineering leaders, managers, executives, and current or prospective clients • Coordinate work with engineering offices and shared resources • Cross-train employees on multi-client standards • Coordinate with Business Development to support pipeline and workflow backlog • Present technical solutions to key customers and respond to technical concerns • Delegate, plan, prioritize, and forecast engineering requirements and training schedules • Participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data • Provide technical support for quotes and estimating • Review and approve employee timesheets and expense statements • Ensure project cost, quality, and schedule requirements are met • Conduct audits to ensure design packages follow Qualus’ QA/QC process • Oversee internal training by identifying staff needs and coordinating training resources • Attend Project Kickoff meetings to review scope, specifications, budgets, schedules, and safety requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering • ABET accreditation preferred • Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector • Experience in transmission, distribution, and generating stations is a plus • Master’s Degree in Engineering Management or MBA is a plus • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred • Ability to provide engineering supervision and technical leadership • Ability to coordinate work across engineering offices and shared resources • Ability to present technical solutions and respond to customer questions • Ability to plan, prioritize, delegate, and forecast engineering requirements • Ability to conduct client meetings and job site visits • Knowledge of project cost, quality, schedule, and QA/QC requirements
