📋 Description

• Hire, develop, and grow a distribution engineering team • Provide engineering supervision and leadership to meet project demands • Maintain a limited project load according to backlog needs • Work closely with the Engineering Director and provide technical oversight of office-based engineers • Recruit, select, orient, train, schedule, coach, counsel, and evaluate employees • Contribute engineering information and recommendations to strategic plans • Prepare and complete action plans and implement production, quality, customer-service, and operational standards • Provide technical and procedural direction to ensure proper engineering processes throughout projects • Develop and maintain relationships with senior engineering leaders, managers, executives, and current or prospective clients • Coordinate work with engineering offices and shared resources • Cross-train employees on multi-client standards • Coordinate with Business Development on pipeline and workflow backlog • Present technical solutions to customers and respond to technical concerns • Plan, prioritize, delegate, and forecast engineering requirements and training schedules • Participate in client meetings and job-site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data • Provide technical support for quotes and estimating • Review and approve employee timesheets and expense statements • Ensure project cost, quality, and schedule requirements are met • Conduct audits of design packages for compliance with Qualus’ QA/QC process • Oversee internal training by identifying staff needs and coordinating training resources • Attend project kickoff meetings covering scope, specifications, budgets, schedules, and safety requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field) from an ABET-accredited school • Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector • Experience in utility distribution design projects • Complex System Expansion or Government Conversion project experience highly preferred • Master’s Degree in Engineering Management or MBA is a plus • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
