📋 Description

• Hire, develop, and grow a Protection & Control engineering team • Provide engineering supervision and leadership in support of project demands while maintaining a limited project load • Work closely with the Engineering Director and provide technical oversight of engineers based out of the office • Recruit, select, orient, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees • Communicate job expectations and review employee contributions and compensation actions • Contribute engineering information and recommendations to strategic plans • Prepare and complete action plans and implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards • Resolve problems, complete audits, identify trends, and implement administrative system improvements and change • Provide technical and procedural direction to ensure proper engineering processes throughout projects • Develop and maintain relationships with senior engineering personnel, managers, executives, and current or prospective clients • Coordinate work with engineering offices where shared resources reside • Cross-train employees on multi-client standards • Coordinate with Business Development to support pipeline and backlog consistency • Present technical solutions to key customers and respond to technical concerns and questions • Delegate, plan, prioritize, and forecast engineering requirements and training schedules • Participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data • Provide technical support for quotes and estimating • Review and approve employee time sheets and expense statements • Ensure project cost, quality, and schedule requirements are met • Conduct audits to ensure design packages follow Qualus’ QA/QC process • Oversee internal training by identifying staff needs and coordinating training resources • Attend Project Kickoff meetings covering scope, specifications, budgets, schedules, and safety requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school • Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector • Experience in utility protection and control engineering • Master’s Degree in Engineering Management or MBA is a plus • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
