📋 Description

• Execute commissioning and testing of protection and control schemes and systems for customers’ electric utility substations and plant locations • Test Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), SCADA systems, communications media, relays, meters, RTUs, DFRs, and multifunction media converters or intelligent logic devices • Red-line design documents throughout the drawing set, including Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, and Bill of Material/Material List • Perform end-to-end testing • Perform IED testing manually and with automated test sets such as Doble 6150, Omicron, and Manta • Identify common risks associated with testing and commissioning protection and control schemes and systems • Develop test plans, risk assessments, and practical applications of basic protection and control systems and schemes • Analyze scope and drawing interpretations to create comprehensive functional guidelines and risk assessments • Lead people and tasks within larger projects, or provide technical and people leadership on projects with well-defined scopes of work • Perform weekly site safety inspections • Lead the application of HP with Project Lead approval • Support company and customer policies and procedures • Travel to client sites for three-week assignments and return home for long weekends

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET university or Associates/AET degree • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations • Experience in handling simple volt-ohm-meter and working with hand tools • Experience in reading and interpreting One Line, AC & DC Elementary and Wiring diagrams • Proficient computer, computer network, and Android/iPhone app skills • Microsoft Office suite of software proficiency • Ability to map drive letters for server connections • Ability to obtain, install, and connect handheld device apps to ‘The Cloud’ or other locations as required • Ability to perform regular field work in various work environments, conditions and weather • Ability to read company manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures • Ability to speak with poise and confidence, using correct English • Valid driver’s license and good driving record • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading and writing
