📋 Description

• Write daily news stories and longer-form features for Fierce Biotech • Develop a beat and build a strong network of sources • Mine public records, court documents, regulatory filings, clinical trial data and company disclosures for original stories • Brainstorm and deliver features that engage and grow the Fierce Biotech audience • Collaborate with editors and reporters across the newsroom on major stories and special projects • Create or contribute to audio and video content, including podcasts and short-form video • Engage on social media to promote stories, connect with sources and grow Fierce Biotech's audience and voice • Travel occasionally to cover major industry conferences and events • Represent Fierce publicly on camera, on stage and across social platforms

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum two years of newsroom experience required, with experience covering the biotech or pharmaceutical industry • Degree in journalism or a related, writing-intensive field • Ability to work a regular workday with a start time of 8:00 a.m. ET • Strong writing and reporting skills, with knowledge of AP style • Demonstrated ability to report quickly, accurately and with nuance • Comfort reading regulatory materials and other industry documents • Experience with multimedia storytelling, including podcasting, video or on-camera work • Comfort speaking publicly, including moderating panels or participating in live or recorded discussions • Understanding of how to use social media as a reporting and audience growth tool • Collaborative mindset, strong news judgment and enthusiasm for building expertise over time • Commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Strong team player and ability to work well with others • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future
