RAFI envisions a thriving, sustainable, and equitable food system and offers a variety of resources to assist farmers, particularly those facing financial crises and natural disasters. The organization provides training, assistance in navigating USDA programs, and engages in policy advocacy to challenge corporate power in agriculture. RAFI runs grant programs to support infrastructure and stipends for beginning farmers, and works to expand market access for farmers, with a special focus on farmers of color. RAFI's work is highly collaborative, involving partnerships with faith communities and engaging in policy advocacy for climate and equity.

📋 Description

• Support RAFI’s Farm Services team with data collection, farmer outreach and training events, and one-on-one technical assistance • Streamline intake and case management processes • Identify and develop outreach materials addressing farmers’ conservation needs • Ensure assistance is tailored to farmers’ needs • Manage team administrative activities, including scheduling meetings, creating agendas, completing program reports, submitting e-newsletter content, organizing Google Drive files, and supporting metrics and evaluation processes • Plan, promote, and support events, gatherings, webinars, and trainings with the Farmers of Color Network and Farmer Services teams • Send invitations, reminders, and follow-up communications; coordinate outreach and cross-team coordination; assist with event logistics • Provide administrative support for efficient project management for the Southeast Conservation Network • Serve as the main point of contact for network members • Coordinate network gatherings, trainings, and workshops • Collect, review, and manage reporting and payment request processes for Southeast Conservation partners

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with data entry, data reporting, and working with a CRM • Proficiency in Salesforce preferred • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Willingness to learn and work with remote staff • Attention to detail and strong ability to follow through on tasks • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills • Dedication to RAFI’s values • Fluency in Spanish desired • Experience working with nonprofit organizations desired • Comfort with ambiguity and flexibility desired • Experience in agriculture and working with farmers desired • Applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, and professional references • Three references, including one current or former supervisor • Authorization to work in the United States required; RAFI does not sponsor work visas • Availability to work during RAFI’s business hours of 9–5 p.m. Eastern preferred/required for scheduling • Priority given to applicants based in the southeast US or Puerto Rico
