📋 Description

• Pitch, report, and write original stories about defense technology, emerging capabilities, tactics, strategy, and global conflicts. • Contribute to breaking news coverage and in-depth features. • Work with The War Zone’s editorial team to refine story angles and strengthen reporting. • Research complex technical and military subjects with accuracy and depth. • Help maintain The War Zone’s reputation for analysis-driven, original journalism.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in defense, national security, technology, or related journalism. • Demonstrated ability to produce clear, engaging, and well-sourced reporting on complex topics. • Proven experience in breaking news and long-form features for digital media. • Strong understanding of military systems, operations, and technology. • Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical skills. • Ability to meet deadlines, and thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment. • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills. • Passion for defense journalism and curiosity about the evolving intersection of technology, policy, and warfare.
